Gus (Christian Convery) is one of the hybrid kids, that the world believes caused a pandemic that ended the world. While also telling the story of this larger world and its main story, the focus of Sweet Tooth is this little boy named Gus. Sweet Tooth season 1 ended on an amazing cliffhanger. It’s honestly a great little show, and I’m glad that we now know that Sweet Tooth season 2 is confirmed. The light-hearted moments are heartwarming, while the horribly suspenseful parts are enough to keep you on edge. It’s equal parts terrifying, sweet and ominous. An end of the world series from the perspective of a cute li’l kid is kind of ingenious. You only have to read my Sweet Tooth season 1 review to find out just how much I liked the show. I can’t say enough nice things about Sweet Tooth. This is very good news, especially given how season 1 of Sweet Tooth ended. And now, we hear that Sweet Tooth season 2 is confirmed. But the even more surprising part of all of that is that it all totally works. Oh! And I totally forgot: the whole thing is totally family-friendly and kid-appropriate. But the last remaining people are hunting, killing and experimenting on them. Then there are these cute animal-human hybrid kids who may or may not be responsible for the end of the world. It’s a post-apocalyptic show about how people turn on each other when the world turns to hell, even resorting to killing one another. The premise for the Netflix original series based on a comic book, Sweet Tooth, feels contradictory.
